Max Tuttman serves as a Technology-to-Market Advisor at the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) where he helps prepare innovative energy technologies for transition from the lab to the market. He focuses on technologies that enable deep decarbonization of the electric power sector including long duration energy storage and flexible carbon capture.
Tuttman has spent over a decade working in energy and cleantech, starting his career at the third generation biofuels startup Joule Unlimited, before moving into the utility enterprise software space as a Product Manager at PowerAdvocate. Prior to joining ARPA-E, Tuttman advised commercial and institutional clients on large-scale renewable energy procurements as a Senior Associate at CustomerFirst Renewables. Tuttman earned his MBA and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and holds an Sc.B. in Mechanical Engineering from Brown University.
