Although we are still in the early days of our energy transition, the landscape of energy storage and hybrid (solar + storage) projects is rapidly evolving and is already changing longstanding dynamics in the energy industry – influencing everything from the role of consumers on the grid, resource planning, grid operations, and more. This workshop will focus on understanding the current dynamics and status of the storage and hybrid project marketplace, highlighting important trends to pay attention to, and projections for where the market is going.
The workshop will unpack recent and current market trends of declining costs, advancing technology, and review case studies across the country of the increasing variety of project deployments and applications on both the distribution and transmission grid. Attendees will review key regulatory and legal developments at both the state and federal level, and assess holistic due diligence items when it comes to evaluating energy storage and hybrid project value streams. The workshop will also address how states are approaching storage in conjunction with renewables, looking at the value proposition and applications for hybrid vs. standalone storage projects, and reviewing case studies involving stand-alone storage, dual-use/multiple-use applications, and hybrid resources. Overall, attendees will come away with key insights into the market opportunities for energy storage resources, and existing opportunities at the federal, regional (RTO/ISO) and state level.
