Surya Panditi, President & CEO – Enel X North America, Inc.

Surya Panditi is the President and CEO of Enel X North America, managing the company’s business in the United States and Canada. In this role, Panditi oversees the smart energy revolution Enel X is leading through its integrated, sustainable energy solutions and electric vehicle charging technologies. He brings his over 30 years of experience in the technology sector to Enel X, leveraging his expertise on digital transformation across industries. With a career path ranging from launching startups to leading a $4 billion dollar business unit, Panditi is never afraid to take risks and branch into unchartered territories.

Prior to joining Enel X in July 2019, Panditi was General Manager at software development company, CA Technologies. His background includes executive level leadership roles at Cisco Systems, where he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the company’s Service Provider Networking Group, overseeing strategy, engineering, and marketing direction for service provider networking platforms. He has also served in executive and advisory roles for several start-up companies including CEO of Avici (which he took public via an IPO), AirGrub, Advisor to StageOne Ventures, Rockport Systems, Enkoo (acquitted by SonicWall) and Rasa Networks (acquired by HPE).

Carla Peterman, Executive Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer – PG&E Corporation

Carla J. Peterman is Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Chief Sustainability Officer for PG&E Corporation, the parent company of Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

Peterman has spent her career focused on California’s energy policy and regulatory landscape. At PG&E, she oversees the company’s regulatory, legislative, sustainability, and charitable strategies, all focused on delivering for the customers and communities that PG&E serves in Northern and Central California.  Prior to joining PG&E in 2021, Peterman served as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Regulatory Affairs at Southern California Edison. Before that she served a six-year term as a Commissioner of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).  A steadfast proponent of clean energy, at the CPUC Peterman led the adoption of the first utility energy storage mandate in the country, the approval of nearly $1 billion of utility investments in electric vehicle charging infrastructure, the adoption of utility energy efficiency goals and business plans, and the implementation of California’s Renewable Portfolio Standard.

Before her CPUC appointment, Peterman served on the California Energy Commission, where she was the lead commissioner for renewables, transportation, and natural gas. She also is a former board member of The Utility Reform Network, an organization that represents consumers before the CPUC and California Legislature. In 2019, Governor Newsom appointed her to chair the Commission on Catastrophic  Wildfire Cost and Recovery. She currently serves on the external advisory board for Sandia National Laboratories’ Energy and Homeland Security Portfolio, and as a member of the Federal Reserve of San Francisco Economic Advisory Council. She has also served on various other boards, including the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), and NARUC’s Energy Resources and Environment Committee (Vice-Chair).

Peterman holds a BA from Howard University, a PhD in energy and resources from the University of California, Berkeley, and MS and MBA degrees from Oxford University, where she was a Rhodes Scholar.

John Jung, President, EV Solutions – Energy Vault, Inc.

Energy Vault welcomes John G. Jung as the President of Energy Vault Solutions responsible for developing and building the company’s business and capabilities in system integration and AI.

John’s prior experience includes as Founder, President, and CEO of Greensmith Energy, a turn-key systems integrator responsible for delivering over a third of the total US capacity of energy storage in 2016. Deploying over 100 systems in twelve countries with a 100% safety record, Greensmith provided industry-leading technologies including a battery-agnostic platform and proprietary software using Al to some of the largest utilities, independent power producers and industrials globally, and was acquired by Wärtsilä in 2017. Prior to Greensmith, John led several VC-backed B2B startups in distributed computing and vertical marketplaces including Pantellos which served 21 of the 25 largest electric utilities in North America, and served on the Board of the Energy Storage Association. John also led a strategy practice for A.T. Kearney and is a Partner at Cota Capital and an Independent Director at Elum Energy.

John holds a B.A. in Pure Science and Economics from Western University, and an MBA in Strategy and Finance from Ivey Business School.
