Advanced Energy Economy
Steve Chadima is a member of the executive team at Advanced Energy Economy and leads the California effort to encourage the adoption of clean, affordable energy. Steve has been involved with energy efficiency and renewable energy since 1983 when he managed a nonprofit corporation in Portland, Oregon, providing services and financial incentives for energy conservation, solar and alternative energy to residents, schools and businesses. Since that time, Steve has been involved with a wide variety of solar and other technology start-ups, including hardware, software and Internet companies, and has worked extensively in Washington, DC and Sacramento to shape policies and programs to help grow nascent industries. Previously Steve was Vice President, External Affairs, of Suntech Power Holdings, responsible for public policy, investor relations and corporate communications. He also served two terms as chairman of the board of directors of the Solar Alliance, an association of the leading PV manufacturers, integrators and financiers working with states to adopt cost-effective solar policies and programs and was on the board of the Large-scale Solar Association, which focuses on both federal and state policies in the US southwest that affect utility-scale solar installations. Steve earned his BA from UC Irvine and MBA from Stanford University.
